July 12-15 Aquatic Plant Management Society Student Paper Contest Milwaukee, WI The Aquatic Plant Management Society (APMS) is soliciting student papers for the upcoming 49th Annual Meeting to be held July 12-15, 2009, at the Hyatt Regency in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Oral and poster presentations of original research on the biology or ecology of aquatic and wetland plants, control methods (biological, chemical, cultural, mechanical) for invasive exotic or nuisance native plant species, and restoration projects involving wetland or aquatic plants are solicited. We are putting together a preliminary program that covers Nebraska's response, Nebraska's plan, tools to do the job, North American Situation and a panel on setting up a structure to address potential new riparian plant invaders while they are in the early stages of the invasion process. Calendar of Events 2010 January 22-23 Joint Meeting of the Stewardship Network and the Midwest Invasive Plant Network (MIPN) Lansing, MI For the first time ever, MIPN will hold its annual meeting in conjunction with the Stewardship Network’s Conference in Lansing, Michigan. MIPN and the Stewardship Network have worked closely together on a variety of projects, and we decided to join forces for our next annual meeting. The conference will focus on the Science, Practice, and Art of Restoring Native Ecosystems and will be MIPN’s first ever meeting in Michigan. We hope you will plan to attend. Stay tuned for more details on the meeting as it approaches.
