Upper Midwest Invasive Species Conference (UMISC)

Save the Date for UMISC 2026!

La Crosse Convention Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin
October 6th – October 8th

The Upper Midwest Invasive Species Conference (UMISC) is a biennial conference that addresses all taxa of invasive species.  2026 will be our 10th conference and we are looking forward to a great event! The goal of UMISC is to strengthen management of invasive species, especially prevention, control, and containment. The conference provides numerous opportunities to network with invasive species professionals, land managers, researchers, non-profits, and many others.

UMISC is the result of a strong partnership between its three hosts, the Midwest Invasive Plant Network, Invasive Plants Association of Wisconsin, and Minnesota Invasive Species Advisory Council.

Ohio River Valley Invasive Species Conference (ORVISC)

The Ohio River Valley Invasive Species Conference brings together professionals and concerned citizens who work on, and care about, the issue of invasive species in the lower Midwest. Our goals are to strengthen awareness of invasive species issues and to facilitate innovative and practical solutions for prevention and management. We held our first conference in 2025 and are looking forward to our next event in 2027. We will be partnering with Southern Illinois University to hold our conference in Carbondale, IL on September 28-29, 2027.
